Africa Day!!...Total Heaven for me ;)

Hello again, so A while ago Melissa and I went to Africa day...mostly because it was free...but also because we LOVE festivals!!!! Anyway it was rainy like always in London but it was still awesome all the places in Africa were pretty much represented and they has music going on and it was great....anyway check out the pictures
like I said it was raining...I am surprised how resilient my camera is

this guys were really good they were playing when we got there and right away Melissa and I were dancing along which was embarrising for me because I was surrounded by black people who actually knew how to dance...
see dancing...
they also had this big screen where they showed what was going on the stage for those of us that were way far back...though we weren't really all that far to be honest lol...
Melissa trying out her dance moves....scroll down quickly so you can imagine it in a sequence

AFRICA DAY!!!
next act sang in...an african language to be honest I can't remember where in Africa they were exactly from but they were pretty good.
she also played this cool instrument you can kind of see...her fingers were like crazy on that thing....it was nuts...
me dancing....se embarrassing... have no skill

this is what the stage looked like..
and these are the hosts....they kept saying things like "man I can't believe all you guys are here in the rain" and "if we didn't have to be we wouldn't" it was kind of funny
These guys were the BEST....they had such feel good music...when they introduced them they said they explode happiness from the stage and it's true you couldn't help dancing and feeling good while they played....and this guy in the picture ou can't tell but he has an Obama (I think I spelled that wrong) shirt on and that was pretty funny too.

I got some weird looking pictures of the screen but I thought they were cool so I posted them.
OMG these two guys were dressed like this walking around doing all these crazy dances...they were hysterical....
HAHAHA
and these five random guys just hoined hands and started dancing in a circle....crazy British people
awesome trumpet player hit notes I didn't know were possible on a trumpet...
oh my gosh and then one of those guys just walked up to this very short (so short we thought it was like a 12 year old) woman and started dancing with her.
and then the other guy came around too....they were crazy

after that act these acrobats came on and they did some crazy stuff it was really hard to get pictures of though so I mostly just got the screen.
crazy!!
this is nuts and then....
he lets go and HE IS BALANCING ON HIS HEAD!!!! you can't really see it but OMG I actually was so scared he was going to fall..
they were pretty crazy
and cute ;)
then this guy who must be really popular came on because when he came out the crowd grew from huge to enormous..

and they taught this crazy dance that I can't remember now...Melissa do you remember what it was?
this is them doing the dance though...it sort of loses it's effect in the pictures...
Africa Day....but Melissa you are from the Caribbean!!
I wish I was African...then I could dance and be ridiculously good looking....lol

anyway that was Africa day...I have another blog to post but I am going to pack a little before I post it....CHEERS!!!!

want to hear a funny story?

So today was my last test and boy what an interesting day that turned out to be....I was at the school late last night to add the finishing touches to my knowledge about International Business Management...exhausted I finally get home super late to eat and go to sleep...Melissa had been at home studying for the same test on my computer because she has no word processor...(Basically all week we have been making notes in bits and pieces on all these different topics to try to review them the day of the test because out test was at 6pm)...So anyway I am finished looking up info and hoping I can look over notes for a few hours the next day and I should be good for my test.....Wrong....turns out When Melissa and I awoke late mind you (we both slept through our alarms) and went to go check our stuff and print the info we had collected for like 7 hours the night before it was gone...saved in a temporary folder (mine on the schools computer and Melissa's on my computer) and lost the second we logged off/turned off the computers....I hate...no loathe the person who thought it was a good idea to create the temporary folder it is a mistake I am constantly making...anyway I didn't bring you on here to gripe about the temporary folder....we had to re-research and try to make sure we knew the rest before the test and at 6pm went into the test resigned to our fate....However....about 1 hour 20 minutes into said test the fire alarm goes off....Now I have already written down a good portion of the answers on my test because I write and think very quickly but Melissa takes her time (something I should really learn how to do) and so with partially finished tests and about 45 minutes left to take them we are ushered out of not only the testing room but of Westminster in general....Fire trucks came...about hundred students who were taking the test standing outside on the busy London streets all trying to review notes just in case they let us back in which they do not....no....we are told to leave...and that we will be let know what is going to happen....I refuse to take the test again....I had enough down to pass and I don't really think that I could have changed much except for syntax which I think they will overlook since I was out of time...Our friend Ann leaves to go back to the US on Saturday and Melissa and I won't be here either most likely if they have a retake so we were told we would be accommodated for if that is the case.....anyway all in all it was a pretty interesting day...I hope I am done with my tests and don't have to go back though I think Melissa is hoping we do. We're not sure how they could grade them other wise though.

So that was my interesting story if it wasn't interesting enough I have some pictures that I still need to get around to putting up on here....so hopefully that will be interesting...

Hey look Spain followed us to London

Hello everyone so I know I said that I would put more of those videos up but I have been studying and going to all the free events there are in London lol...anyway Melissa and I noticed these signs for this event called a taste of Spain and so we decided to check it out. London had decided it wanted to break the Guinness world record of the largest sevillanas dance...and so this is what they set out to do. A lot of stores along the street were having sales and they had music and lots of people were dancing obviously....so check it out...when we first got there they were playing music to warm some of the dancers up and to warm the crowd up

some people knew how to do the dance and were doing it farther away from the crowds.

This guy was like way intense!

So then after a while they started to assemble in a big sectioned off place where they did a little more organized practicing...they also had this bus parked out into the street for the news people.
hahaha these may look like women but trust me they are NOT women!! lol
So mostly these pictures are of them practicing...
look at this pregnant lady she was the cutest dancer ever...
some people were dressed up in authentic outfits while some people just knew the dance...I think they all registered before hand to be there.
This is the stage they had set up in the middle...eventually after all the practicing they started the organized dancing...the crowd was enormous and Melissa and I were thirsty so we went into a store to get a drink and missed whether or not they actually made the record.
Melissa tried to get a few pictures though of the organized dance.
and then she got some pictures from the window of the place we went into.
so you can see in the sort of bottom of this picture one of those guys that are dressed up like girls from earlier...they were pretty funny.

So after we came out I guess maybe they did make the record because they were handing out t-shirts...technically they were handing out t-shirts to the dancers but Melissa managed to get one....lol...she's so crafty. We also both got balloons.
technically we only had one and Melissa gave it to me because she is never going to actually wear it...she cares too much about appearance and I care too little lol...
after the crowds started to disperse they started playing music again and Melissa thought she would give the dance a try....while being followed by her balloon...

her trying to mimic the hand movements.
see Melissa looks just like this girl right?

anyway that is all for now I have another post to put up but I am going to get some studying done first.....hopefully...
